A vegetable garden has been created at the school, which is maintained by the pupils and teachers. The vegetables and fruit are used for the meals that are provided to the pupils at lunchtime. In this way the pupils learn to grow fruit and vegetables and eat the products they have grown themselves.
Part of the garden was not fenced off. This means that animals walking around in the wild regularly plundered the gardens. A wall was built to keep goats and sheep away from the crops. The wall was bricked by a few men from Toniataba, but they also baked the bricks themselves!
