The Karamba Foundation was founded on 20 March 2015. The founders and the board of the Dutch foundation have the mission to improve the living conditions in The Gambia by carrying out small-scale projects in the country. Our foundation wants to set up projects together with the local population in the field of education, medical care, agriculture, self-employment and job creation. With this we offer underprivileged people in the interior of The Gambia the opportunity to build a better life and future perspective.
The name Karamba refers to our contact in The Gambia. Karamba is the father of a poor family and very involved with his village Toniataba, which lies 300 kilometres inland. We set up our projects for this village and the village of Soma, which is further away.
